BEFORE AND AFTER

This looks like something from the hoarder's show Buried Alive.
I walked into my studio this morning and nearly croaked.  Not only is this a mess,
it makes me nuts.  Or nuts-ier as my husband would amend.
So I turned on some Budha Zen music and started cleaning.

AHHHHH...
much better
NOW!

MORNING RAIN PROMISING FALL

A morning rain passed by.. thunder, wind and some rain.  But then it was gone and I stepped outside to breathe in the delightful air.  Fall is knocking at our door.  The colors of the oak brush are starting to turn on the hills here in town.
If you look at the center of this hillside shot, you will see the pine trees that were burned a few years ago.  Nature is coming back and soon we will see green pine trees.  The remnants of the storm clouds are laying low and lazy over the mountain.  I would love to take a drive up into the mtns today to enjoy the changing
colors.

I came back into my studio .. it's pretty chaotic right now.  A sign that I have been really really busy.  It needs cleaning.  But not today.  Today I need to work. Orders to get out, catalogs to print, and new designs to work on.
Cleaning will have to wait.
NOW
I must work!!!!

STUDIO SALE

SPRING SALE at my studio today and tomorrow.

With my daughter's wonderful help, we have been cleaning out stockpiles of too much of this and too much of  that. It was absolutely overwhelming for me when we started.  But as we made progress, I felt the energy of LESS IS MORE~.  That is a hard line to follow when you are a mixed media artist.  Much of what you let go, you know deep down, you would of  eventually found a need for the stuff.  But you also know at some point, it's good to clear out the space and allow new energy to flow.

I also have stockpiles of art that I am selling.  For low low prices.  Don't even think about how much time I spent creating these pieces, simply let it go for a small price and know that the rewards of more space will more than compensate for the low price of the sale.  So in the end of my studio storage space, I hung sheets, etc and created a small room of sorts to hang the art..  funky but it is working.

Since moving into our house and my studio a year and a half ago, it was a rush to get things put away, often haphazardly, and then making time to go  back and organize, despite my best intentions didn't happpen till now.   And I have to say, having someone to help you is really a big advantage.

Plus, oh my.  Look at the space I have created!

STUDIO CRAZIES

Looking at my studio this morning..  holy moly, it  looks like a bomb went off in here.  I am going to have to bust into some cleaning/organizing today.  No one can say this is a boring studio!  I am trying to see this in a postive light.. you know, it's all just lovely creative juicy explosions rather than a big ole mess.  I have to admit, I am really messy when I create whether it's art or cooking... but I do get into the spirit!
so here's to a great day.. may the cleaning jujus plow through the studio and by evening, I will be
happy to take off my goggles and enjoy the CLEAN!
