NEW LISTINGS ON ETSY

These  are now listed on my Etsy site.

I am lining up the art to sell,
 making room for new.
Time to shop for that special piece of art that is calling to you.

Limonata.
I even love to say the name.
I fell in love with this Italian lemon beverage and love the graphics on the can.
That inspired me to create a Limonata Art Doll.
She would be delicious in a kitchen with her spoon and fork arms/hands.

My love of Blackbirds often find their way into my art.  The sweet art doll is made from a very old license plate.. about 1936 I think.  The blackbird is cut from an old Utah license plate.  She feels
very quiet and full of wisdom when I look at her. She is called "Blackbird Spirit Woman"

This fun art doll called "Wishful Thinking" has a real wishbone in her head with a little bird perched on top.
She has the cutest specs on (from a garden hose holder I believe) and her legs are old carpenter rulers.  Her body is from a 1968 Kansas license plate.  Her head is in the stars!
She is wishing for you!

I had fun with this guy.. aptly titled "John Q. Public Focus".  I have become increasingly weary, as we all seem to be, with all the politic rants and raves and endless stream of rhetoric on tv, radio etc.
I have to turn it all off, and keep my mind on other things here in my studio.  Watch old movies on Turner's
Classic Movie channel, or listen to books on tape, or listen to music.  I create my own reality here in my studio!
NOW to work on orders!

WHEE!!! ART DOLL KEY RACK

I am a firm believer that you spotlight where you hang your keys,  use it faithfully, and then you will NEVER have to look around crazy crazy for your keys.  Knowing exactly where your keys are, will let you happily fly out the door, looking as giddy and fun as this Art Girl..
I LOVE her hair.. I LOVE happy hair..
it's just such a
fun way to express your joy in life!!!!

I just finished this gal, a gathering of lost and found art.  The head with shoulders went on a round robin art doll journey, and got lost in Texas for YEARS!!!.  Well, God, we all know someone who has done that, or at least heard something similar in a sad western song on the radio.  Well, by some miracle of universe, this gal came back into my life.  But I decided her intended ART was just not working for her.  So we had a nice chat over coffee this morning and she expressed her desire to create a new INTENT for her life.  And she definitely wants a permanent home now.  She is happy to offer her advice on traveling out in the big wild world, but she would be so content to hold down the fort or key rack in this case.
But she is not intended for my adobe.. she is indeed intended for a new forever home and is available on my etsy site.
So if you think she is meant for you, and you can prove your intent by actually purchasing her, she is now available.  With some road stories that will be sure to brighten your world.
NOW
I am off to do some errands.. and yep, I do know where my keys are..  :)

EMALIE'S ART

It was the best two months ever!  I am a far-away granny most of the time.  So having my granddaughter here and her mom for two months was pure bliss.  Emalie adores doing art and we did a lot of fun art together.  She has an independent spirit and was always so intent on doing what she invisioned.  Never mind that she was four, she was determined.  She would ask for help, but you had to follow her directions.  That
sassy attitude will keep her on the good red road!  Authentic is what you see in her.  I took the moments out of every day, busy or not, to focus on NOW.  To hold her tight and smell she sweetness.  To listen to her babble, or her musical laugh.  As you can well imagine, it's really quiet here today.  The girls are home on their lovely island of Kauai and enjoying their paradise with Robert:  husband/father.  I know they are all thrilled to be back in the family core and loving each other.  Thank you Robert for graciously sharing your girls with us.
I also had a wonderful time with my daughter.  We are easy going together.  It's nice to have had so much time with her.  She's an amazing mama.  We lost 10 pounds together.. inspired each other to be healthy and
she helped me with so many projects around the studio and house.
So NOW I am back on my own schedule.. which is nice, but I do miss their sweet energy.  We are hoping to do this again next summer.  Which will be another reason I love summer.
    NOW to work.  ta.

WISHFUL THINKING

An apt name that...  She has a wishbone in her hair. So naturally, I added the printed dictionary pages transferred onto fabric and cut into strips (as an "afterthought"..)    :)
I want to do a series of these license plate art dolls.  I made one last fall and knew I had more to create.
Here she is in full...
After I took this picture, she decided she needed more volume with her hair.
I love making assemblages.  Her legs are one of those wooden folding carpenter's rulers.. that I
took apart.. laboriously I might add.  More art dolls in the works..
but for
NOW
I have to attack some other chores.

ENCHANTED LADY CAN COME OUT OF HIDING NOW

She arrived safe and sound and now that she has a new home, I can show her pictures here.
I am planning to do more of these.  I love using the license plates.  I now am looking for
old dolls to use their parts.  It's always fun to be on the lookout.  I do find some cool things on ebay,
but also like to cruise the old thrift shops.
Wrapping and sipping some wine this evening.. It's snowing.  And Santa is loading up his sleigh.
Jolly time of the year.  And I am POOPED!!!!  phew.
night night

A BATCH OF ANGELS

I woke to angels waiting to be finished!  So in a few hours, I was able to do these gals.  I will give these
out to my friends for the holidays.  I like that they can be hung any time of the year, rather than just at Christmas.  Using the inspiration of the light bulb, I used the word Light in all the little messages on the angels.
I love their little scalloped petticoats that hang just below their skirt hemlines.  Now I want to make a big one, using a larger bulb, as a tree top angel for our Christmas tree.  So stay tuned!
off to work, ho ho!
ta

and hope an angel lights your way today!!!!!!

ANGELS IN THE WINGS

My paper mache angel... and more in the WINGS!
I don't work with paper mache nearly enough.  It's so fun to get all gooey and play!
My first angel flew away yesterday, so I decided to make a batch this morning.

Because one is never enough!!!!
